Mis firing at 80kph

HI there,

I have a A102 A1 with a Pallas carburetor and recently at 80kph on the dot I start to get a miss fire then 3 or 5 secs later another one.

As soon as I drop to 75kph it stops..

I stripped the carb and cleaned it thoroughly but still the same.

Any suggestions as it seems to be getting a little more often, but that could be because I am not used to setting up a Pallas carb:(

Talking of the carb how many turns out should the mixture screw come out?
Also does anyone have a tuning hints for the carb as there is one other small locking screw that seems to adjust the tick over..

Finally what is better carb, Pallas or Bing for the Heinkel?

Hello Alex, I think you have A Pallas 20/14 P Carburator
Technical data: mainjet 80, needle jet2701, needle 6054-1, slow jet 35 air screw2,5 turns open, needle 3rd position...
I´m not sure but I think your problem is from ignition.. best regards Stephan

Is it better to replace this carb with a Bing or is the Pallas still a good option?

On my Heinkel I have a Pallas carb. and it works fine. So if it works my replace?

As "derhatalles" supposed, I would check the ignition. Could be the ignition coil ore condenser / interrupter (is it that word in english?) Also check al the wires for god connection, spetiali the grounding wire.
