Hallo.

I have two questions, and I am very sorry I do not have a person to translate English to Deutsch for me. I bought a new second gear for an A2. Here are two pictures of new and old second gears:

I have a question about each picture. In picture 1, why is the height (between the two lines) less on the new gear? Also I see that the tops of the teeth are rounded.

In picture 2, why are the grooves wider?

Were these improvements to second gear?

Best regards from warm Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Hi Michael. Ill try to answer you in english. There has been a change of some parts in the A2 gearboxes after the A2 model was on the streets for 1 or 2 years. It must have been in 1962 or 1963. The reason why was that many drivers had problems to put the gears in properly. I dont know if this modification was very successful. There must be a certain engine registration number that it startet from but i dont know it. Maybe someone else in this Forum knows it. I think but i am not sure that the new one on the picture is one of the later types. You should not mix both types of coggs(is that the right english word for the thing on the picture?). They also changed some other tings at the A2 models at that time. For example: The rims. plastic cooling fan, front fork and wing. I hope i could help you a little bit. Werner
