Fahrgestell-Nr./Chassis Numbers?
I've just brought a 1965 103 A-2 and I'm interested to know how close to the end of production it was. Does anybody have a record of the chassis numbers? Thanks.

The type A2 beginning with frame No. 0225 001 and a production of about 55.000 units this should put you pretty much in the ballpark assuming consecutive numbering. And why shouldn't it be consecutive, at least they where german.

Re: Fahrgestell-Nr./Chassis Numbers?
Thank you Erdgeschoss. Very interesting. It looks like another approximately 16,000 units were produced after mine. I965 must have been a busy year as my speedo drive is date stamped March 1965.
Re: Fahrgestell-Nr./Chassis Numbers?
Are there actually any results from the data collection on chassis numbers in late 2016?
Re: Fahrgestell-Nr./Chassis Numbers?
The last proven #´s in the database are:
Model, Frame#, Motor# , Issued paper
103 A2 264267 609359 2/1/1966
What are your # Karl?
Can you please make a picture of your speedo drive with the date stamp?
Between 1963 and 1966 the market collapsed. The manufacturing belt was first shorten and after the demand was reduced further, 103A2 were hand assembled from spare part. Nobody likes to document this negative trend, these days. Therefore the figure of 55000 produced 103A2 is quite insecure.
At the end, the issued paper has no direct relation to the manufacturing date. Lots of Heinkels were waiting in the showroom of the dealer for years.

Re: Fahrgestell-Nr./Chassis Numbers?
Hi Anh. Thank you for the information. Unfortunately the date stamp is not visible now I have reassembled into the forks. My frame number is 263617. Cheers Karl

Re: Fahrgestell-Nr./Chassis Numbers?
Hi Anh. Thanks for the information regarding the pdf. It looks like one four before mine was registered in 1966 ( 0 263 613 - 01.04.1966 ) a year after mine. I guess, we'll probably never be able to really know. If my speedo drive is original then it would suggest mine is later than March 1965. Perhaps if I ever have to split my engine (I hope not) then I might find out more according to - http://www.heinkeltourist.com/dates.htm. Cheers Karl
